The County of Lexington Department of Economic Development would like to make you aware of the below opportunity for you to share with your constituent businesses.
As
efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 continue, the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) has allocated a specific number of Non-contact
Infrared Thermometers (NCIT) to each state for private-sector use. The
South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) is providing NCITs to each
County Economic Development office on a per capita basis. Per FEMA guidance,
these thermometers are for private-sector/for-profit businesses with a high
degree of person-to-person interaction. Facilities not included are: government, non-profit entities, education, hospitals, doctor’s offices and other healthcare professional services.
The
NCITs have been delivered and will be available on a first-come first-served
basis.
If your companies are interested in receiving one or more of these
units, please have them email edinfo@lex-co.com
by noon on Thursday, June 11 with the following information:
o Name of Company
o Facility Manager
Contact Name and Contact Info (title, email address, phone number, physical
address)
o Human Resources Contact
Name and Contact Info (title, email address, phone number, physical address)
o Number of employees at
the facility
o Number of NCIT units
requested
This
is not intended to supply 100 percent of your business needs, and not more than
1 NCIT per 75 employees will be distributed to any company. Response to this
email does not guarantee an allocation of thermometers. Workplaces with unmet
needs may need to pursue, independent of the federal government, the
acquisition of additional thermometers. The goal of this initiative is to
recognize the critical role the private-sector plays in disease control and
mitigation.
